silver one Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 If that is Manistee in the beginning on the train bridge by Insta launch, My brothers and I use to jump off of it into the river before the water levels got so low back in the early 80s. pretty cool video. thanks for sharing.
hear fishie fishie Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Thanks for sharring. Been chasing salmon since 1967 and brought back a lot of memories of how things have changed over the years.Started with a Heathkit flasher compassand a couple of cheap manual riviara riggers.
Hotdog71 Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Holy Cow Matt! There was some serious dust on that one. A real blast from the past. Thanks for the post.
Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Now that's archive film footage. I was a teenager when most of the salmon commotion started, and this film sure brought back a lot of fond memories of times past, and of course friends long gone now. Thanks Matt.
IRon Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Very cool. Saw a lot of familiar gear. Some early noodle rods equipped with Shakespeare 1810 closed faced spinning reels. Loved those reels and still have a couple in the garage. Saw some Mitchell 300's and 306's, too. 306's were my favorite heavy duty salmon reels in the river. Loved those sideburns, too!!! And the cars! We had a 64 Chevy just like the one the guy had who was getting the ticket. Priceless.
