darlk Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 I have some old spoons that are in need of fixing up. Some have old paint and glue from tape on them. I am wondering what you guys have used to clean spoons so they can be repainted. Also if you have spoons that have lost there shine what do you use to clean them. Thanks
Nailer Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Darl, welcome to the site. What ever you do, don't use bleach to clean them. Lemon Joy is a good cleaner.
luremaker Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Darl If you are looking to clean them I agree with nailer a good dish soap works best. But if you are looking to clean them to repaint them use lacquer thinner it will strip everything off down to bear metal . Then go from there.
darlk Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 Thanks for the ideas and the welcome. I have not fished the big lake for a few years due to no boat. We picked up a boat this fall can,t wait to get back out there.
Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Welcome Darl. If I was repainting spoons my choice of paint would be the glow paint the Cal. DOT uses on road signs, I believe same/similar to Moonshine paint. It is the best. What kind of boat did you get/pics?
