Veni Vidi Fishi Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Was hoping for some tips/recommendations for a backwater guide in the Sarasota area. Will be there over Christmas for eight days, and was hoping to get in a trip, either in a small boat or kayak. Any suggestions?
Nailer Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Jim Vanpelt may be able to help you fine a Kayak guide in that area. We fished with him around Pine Island. Find a guide that uses Hobie Kayak's. They are %100 hands free, with foot pedals. Jims SiteJims EmailTell him Nailer sent you, and he should be able to recommend someone in the Sarasota area.
Nailer Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Jeff, I checked with Jim and he suggested, Steve Gibson. His number is 941-265-5833 he owns Shallow Pockets Fishing

Veni Vidi Fishi Posted December 21, 2012 Author Posted December 21, 2012 Had a great trip with Steve Gibson from Shallow Pockets Fishing today. Caught plenty of Redfish and Trout, fished from fun kayaks on Sarasota Bay. Steve did a great job putting me on fish, and made sure I had a good time. Give hom a try if your in west Florida.
