Big King Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I ended up fishing the PM Saturday morning with my brother. We floated Custer to Scottville. It was my first time fishing that section, but we faired extremly well- I thought. We ended up catching two chrome female kings that must of just entered the river the night before, and we lost one pig that broke off into a log jam. There was a ton of traffic on the water and it looked like everyone was pitching thundersticks. We caught both fish on an orange thunderstick. The main run isn't even close to being in the river. I talked to several guides that were struggling. I am going the upper section this weekend. Hopefully, they will get some much needed rain.
Nailer Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Thanks for the update Brian. Good luck this weekend.
Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Heard at the mouth of the PM in PM Lake, Ludington, quite a few guys getting lunkers by casting in 12 fow with firetiger J-plugs, nice fish too. The PM should be loaded very soon, a lot of fish are coming in smaller runs here and there with no big consistency quite yet since a big run about 2-3 weeks ago here. Strange year and runs.
MoJoRisin' Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 must be by the L Manistee weir (closed). Been at the lower weir on the platte when there were hundreds stacked there too. Quite the scene seeing that many fish and no fisherman. I actually saw one that had a fly attached to its dorsal fin (big lake fly).
