Big King Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Hey guys, I'm new to the site. I am going up to fish the PM tomorrow and was wondering if they got any rain up there. I heard the fishing has been hit or miss. Also, if anyone has any idea where I should start any help would be greatly appreciated.
fisf crazy Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 last weekend alot of fish went into pm lake ifished the pier and did well so i would check the lower sections frist not much rain at all
silver one Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Sulak should be full of fish in the deep holes. Be prepaired for a hike. alot of wild river country but well worth it. there were fish up there last weekend and not to mention it is a drop dead beautiful streach of river. Good luck. Egg sucking leaches worked for us using fly rods.
its an addiction Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Let us know how you do. I'm going up next weekend with a group of friends Thur-Sun.
Big King Posted September 14, 2012 Author Posted September 14, 2012 I will. I think I am going Kayak it and put in at Custer. It will be my first time floating that stretch so it could be a questionable report.
its an addiction Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Ahh...Might be a good choice with the kayak. Me and my buddies were debating bringing a canoe or two so we could cover more water, since it seems the fish are scattered, at least from what I've heard. Good Luck!
SeaCatMich Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 With it relatively early in the run, I would concentrate on holes that the fish will setup in. The fish in the lower river will still be aggressive but with the water low and clear more subtle lures such as streamer flies will probably work better than spoons, spinners, and crankbaits. If that doesn't work though "hotshotting" a crankbait into a hole 3' at a time can provoke good strikes. Just match the lure to the river current and depth keeping the lure 6" to 1' off the bottom.
