what kind of camera and housing did you use?

I used a GoPro Hero camera and I made my own trolling housing for it.

Its very similar to the TrollPro in design.

Have you tried it yet? Any footage? Any issues with keeping the camera in the upright position? Perhaps a float on the top side (inside the housing) and a weight on the bottom? Great idea for the camera. Thinking I may also want to try it. Thanks for sharing!

How far off the ball was the flasher/fly? Just curious whether you had to zoom or not. I'm looking at buying a couple GoPro's and I'm totally interested.

If you're willing to share how you built the housing, that would be great, too!!

After looking into delrin (probably around $80-$100to for a 4" piece) and trying to figure out how to machine it with a lathe I don't have I've decided to try to make something similar in shape using various pieces of pvc tubing. Just an idea to ponder.

This looks like something that could very easily be accomplished with a few pieces of PVC.

It is weighted with a zinc I got from West Marine.

All the other pieces were bought at Home Depot or Lowes.

I ran the camera about 5-6 feet from the flasher fly.

This is very interesting. Has anyone tried a housing using their self provided sticky pad and the bag of goodies jointed together? I lost a hero 2 off the side of a boat last year due to the suction cup losing it. I'm a little extra protective now.
