blahblahduchunter Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 This last weekend was out fishing and my LCX28cHD just went black. It was as if it got turned off. I checked all connections several times and also checked that there was power to the switch. Has anyone had this problem and what was the outcome? Thanks.
SUPERTRAMP Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 My Lowrance LCX 17 did the same thing this year, it was out of warranty and I just went and got a new graph. If your unit is less than a year old it should be under warranty, call Lowrance electronics for information on service. But my guess is that the LCD screen went bad.
pikeman8 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I had the same thing happen with my Lowrance. Was a different model # but same symptoms. Sent back to Lowrance but they had to replace the entire head unit stating an electrical circuit problem. Sorry for your luck.
schase1 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Hey, I had similar problmes with my lc28xhd. Was talking to lowrance here in canada, and I took couple of pictures of the screens and sent them to them. My screen would go black and scroll though and then I would have a black and white screen, and eventually would go back to the colour. They told me it was a combination of old software and poor transducer. I updated the software, but no change, in the spring I will change out the transducer. if that doesn't work, looks like I will be getting a new unit. Every thing else works fine on the fishfinder, gps, chartplotter and radar. I hate to change out the unit as the radar will not be compatible with the new HDS7 which I was told by lowrance is the replacement.later
perchjerker Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 If you do change the t/d consider an Airmar P-66. I changed out one on my 28c hd (the old one just went dead) and the difference is remarkable. And if it does not solve the problem you can always sell it, its a great unit.
