Stykbowhunter Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) Headed to Traverse City for a short vacation this Thursday. Has anyone heard anything about east or west bay? Edited September 3, 2012 by Nailer
hear fishy fishy Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 West bay about 120 fow 80 to 110 down. Green and white was working late last week. Silver jplug also was working. Haven't heard any current reports. Heard east bay has been slow. Good luck!
Whoopee Tyee Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 East Bay is a little tough but there are Salmon there. Got one Saturday morning in front of Elk Rapids. Early morning bite is there but not much after.
ftaborjr Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Fished west bay last week. Mostly lake trout but lots of good action. Did manage 6 salmon and lost a couple more. 85 to 110 down on riggers best, but took several on dipseys back 175-200, and 150 on wire dipsey. Fished north of Bowers Harbor not another boat in sight. Also caught one whitefish! Mostly Moon glow spoons, and fish catcher fly combos. Good luck!
Stykbowhunter Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 Thanks for the info. We're staying in Northport through Monday. We'll see what happens.Greg
Leafybug Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 fishing out of northport has been pretty good as compared to further south into the bay. Night bite I've found is better. I've had good luck on moonshine happee meal, pink panties, and flounder pounders. For me, the bite has been all spoons no meat or flies. Best of luck to you, I'll be back in a week or so...
