Labor day weekend advice

Heading to the west side this Saturday. If you were me (thank god for you that your not), where would you head to? Muskegon? St. Joe? Who's gonna predict that magic port of call for this weekend?

Grand Haven or muskegon is where I'm going out of!!! See what water temps to where I'm going to start. If you go out of muskegon watch for nets. Around 60 to 90 fow.

I'd say go north. Manistee is the place you oughta be. Or even Ludington or Frankfort.

Thanks for the advice. Whitehall looks a good choice as it gets me a little more north than I was thinking (was thinking South Haven) and gets us away from the boats a bit. One question- do you launch in town then run across White Lake to the big lake?

Donald, welcome to the site. I moved the post to the proper spot. White hall is a great area to fish. You can go north or South and find fish. Try 80-120 fow, and 60-80' down. A south troll will likely be your best troll.

Yep you can put in at the montague city launch then head across white lake. Then I usually head north of the pier and stay away from the nets.... BUT...you might see some massive globs of sailboats on your way back in.. they love to put their big bouys across the channel....
