Anybody fishing out of Traverse City

Going to a friends cottage on Old Mission Point tomorrow and hope to fish in one of the bays for salmon. I have never had my boat there before and was looking for someplace to start. Will be there for a couple days.

They fish out of Leland for Salmon.

Yes Leland is great right now. But if there are salmon in little traverse bay at petoskey then there should be some in grand traverse bay.

I know they get some at times in the bay was just wondering if anyone had been fishing there yet, and where to start. Well I am headed up later today, will post a report when I get back.:lo:grin:

I've never fished TC before. But if I were to guess where to fish would be out in front of the boardman river where the other boats are. Or go farther out in the bay and find some colder water with some structure.

Just returned from Leland Monday night. Fished the first drop off and out to about 6 miles. Used Moonshine UV lures on downriggers 55 to 75 ft down. Glow/white fishcatcher with baitheads on wire dipsy 200 to 230. Most boats were heading out 13 miles to the north end of the island. My daughters did not want to run that far! Fished 2 mornings and 1 afternoon was 6 for 9 on kings and had the lake to ourself
