Hooked Up Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Anyone going out of pentwater? Never fished here before, ran out to 100 fow hardly marked a thing. Water temp on surface was 50. Down 40 ft it dropped to 46! Any help is appreciated!!
double d Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I spoke with some charters this morning at the pentwater cleaning station. They did pretty good in 50-60 fow. Seemed like they did the best on their short copper set ups. 50-100 foot coppers.
Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Sounds like you went straight out Scott? The power project north a couple miles is good, working 60-180 fow. Or run the shoreline south and watch the graph, supposed to be good by Little Point Sable too, but it's a run. The fish are staging at the piers in Ludington of recent days, big run upstream, first one I know of this season, more coming back to back soon too. Some charters here in skinny water up to 25', enuf said?
Nailer Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Stop in and speek with Brian at the Pentwater angler. He will have up to date reports.
monarkbro Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 two weeks ago the fish were in 130 fow 1 mile south of the pier head-work south towards the dunes.
WRENCHED 4 IT Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 We were up in Pentwater this weekend.Sunday morning fish were in tight at 70 fow out to 100 fow straight out of channel both North and South half mile of pier.Limited out on spoons using lemon twist and mixed veg, dip set at 80feet back also 6 color copper and riggers set at 35 to 42 feet seemed to work best.
Hooked Up Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 Thanks for the tips all! Went out tonight for a couple hours, only managed 1 small king. Set up in 80 worked out to 130 south to the dunes. The fish we did mark were in the top 30fow. Can't seem to find them -or get them going:mad:
