Mon 8/6

On Monday we fished from 3:30 to 6:45 on a afternoon run going 6 for 9 on the day. We setup to the south of the can in 120 FOW and worked our way N. The standout for the day was a full core with a moonshine RV blue flounder which took the majority of our hits. Riggers also took one on a moonshine spoon down 65. Divers were quiet for us too but we did take a few rips on a high diver with a ITO fly and a white glow SD.

Tuesday AM

We set lines at about 5:30 in about the same spot as the previous day and before we could get our 4th rod set we were into a double. For the first hour or so it was hard to keep our divers in the water. Unfortunately our hit to land ratio wasn't very good on the day and we ended up 12 for 22 give or take. Divers were the hottest for us with white paddles and glow flies on the low divers back 90 to 130, and spin doctors and green flies on the high divers back 100 to 150. Riggers with spoons and flies also took a few hits from 50 to 65 down. For long lines the full core, 200, and 250 copper all took hits with moonshine spoons. At 11:00 we picked up our lines and headed in for lunch.

Wednesday AM

On Wed. morning we headed out to find the wind had switched to the North and it was a little rougher than I really wanted to troll into, so instead of starting south we started to the North and trolled south in 120 FOW. Before long we were into the fish again running pretty much the same setup as the day before with divers back 100 to 150 with FF combos, riggers down 50 to 60 with spoons and flashers and long lines with spoons. For long lines the full core, 200, and 150 copper took hits. We ended the day an bit early with some crew members that were starting to get green and headed in at 8:30 going 6 for 12.

nice job KJ Pluggin'......I have said it before.....I would rather have the action along with the misses, than not have the excitement. Some days the just don't stay hooked up

I agree Jason, I would rather take the misses over just washing lures. Part of the problem was we had some newbies reeling and netting, but they had a good time and I enjoy showing people how to set gear and fight fish.
