News Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 For now, the deadline (set in 2008) remains; the Badger can't use its current system after Dec. 19. More...
Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 This is NOT an accurate report, the SS Badger, in Port Ludington, where I grew up and was raised, has several options yet open to it. They can upload ash to a landfill with trucking and conveyors yet, and also keep sailing, along with re-fitting with non-coal engines, like diesel and propane gas, which would undermine it's historical significance and steam ship status. Plus cost many $$$Millions to convert, which is not fair nor prudent for this last SS on the great lakes.
fishy1 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Terry Brown a spokesman for the badger says ' they are stewards of the great lakes, I would like to know where he's buying his crack at in Ludington. How can dumping 500-700 tons of pollution in the lake help it,maybe he would like to come over and cut me a check for the canvas and seats I had to replace due to his beloved badgers fly ash what a joke.
