pentwater bite me Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I heard of a way to load copper line in layers, put backing on the reel then 25yds. of copper 30 yds of backing 25 more yds. of copper 30 more yds. of backing ad so on untill full. saves the smaller boats from having to have too many rods on board to cover all the possable depths.Has any one here tried it?
Just Hook'n Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Guys that do this run really really small swivels in the lines - number ones I think so they fit through your level wind. It certainly works, but there is just a lot more places for things to break (knots and terminal tackle). I've not done it myself, but I've heard of guys doing 100' lengths then mono then 100' and so on.
