King Salmon 1 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Started in 110 fow straight out of GH 6-noon.We ended up 4 for 12, 3 Kings & 1 Laker.Picked up 2 fish in 120/130 & 2 in 150/175.Tried in 80 to 100 fow with no luck then headed West.Found a pocket of water - surface temp from 63 down to 49 degrees.Hit a screaming/flying Steelhead on 225 copper for about 2 min. - gone.Took fish on the following.1 Laker on 300 copper - Moonshine RV Flounder Pounder1 King on rigger down 85 - blue uv Big Wienie paddle w/ white uv fly1 King on rigger down 75 - lemon ice Warior spoon1 King on rigger down 125 - white/blue DW paddle w/uv mirage flyWish we had started in the 150/180 area 1st thing in the morning off North Shore Beach, had a lot of action from 10:30-Noon out there.Best depth was 170/180 fow - 110 & 125 down on riggers.
Salmonshark Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Thanks for the information Bill, i know what you mean to get into the deep clear water is what makes the trip, especially when you find fish out there too!! If we wanted to fish dirty water we would stay in the Grand !!
