Building C's Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Hey Guys,I'm looking for some input on electric fillet knives. I will be cleaning my fish on the boat and have an electric outlet for corded ones. I just wanted to see which few are the best. I heard some come with smaller blades and some only last a year or 2. A carving knife might do the trick too. Anyone use one of those?Let me know what ya think.
Priority1 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I'm using a cord type Mr Twister. It works well. I use it mainly for walleye. I got the 9 inch blade for it and seldom use the short one that comes with it.I have used a GE electric knife for kitchen use and for fish.
sherman51 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 i have used them all at one time or another. i have had better luck just using a carving knife i bought at wall mart on sale for 9.00. they work just as good if not better than any of the fillet knives. and dont strip the gears out near as quick as the regular fillet knives.sherman
flyman013 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I've used the Mr. Twister. It works great for skining, but prefer a regular fillet knife for everything else. Never tried it on salmon.
