N II Deep Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Made it out to Muskegon Saturday morning with Alex and Ryan. ended up 9 for 10 - lost one assumed steelie shortly after removing the planner board. it had already jumped 3 times and jumped two more times, I think he flipped me off and was gone. the fish that did make the boat 13#+ King(300 copper), a 12#+ Steel (250 copper), 4#+ brown (rigger), two more smaller steel the rest were all Kings in the 8# to 2# range. The big Steel put up a good fight - Alex had his hands full with that one. Not only did it put on a great show - it also wanted to tangle into every line at the back of the boat, and would not come anywhere near the swim platform. Had to net him along side after pulling the diver out of the way. all spoons - early am glow program, by 7am we switch over to anything silver and shinny - screw balls took fish, Silver Streak UV did some damage. not sure the name but a glow white back spoon yellow with black dots took a couple of fish as well on the 150 copper. started 55 fow north half way between pier head and Duck Lake. worked our way out to 80-90. stayed in that water til about 10am. then it just shut down, started working more WNW out to 120 until we were about 5 miles north of Whitehall. Made the turn and worked back into 80. pulled lines just before noon still half way between Whitehall and Duck lake. Riggers went 3 times. only with spoons - we put the white paddle on after 10am trying to smack the bottom nothing. had 300, 250, & 150 coppers out started morning with only one 300 in the water, pulled one of the divers and put the other other 300 coppers in. took a fish right away. nothing on flasher & flies again - Divers were dead.. thanks to Alex and Ryan for going out. was a good time. Thanks Sniffer for holding the Event - and Thanks to Sliver Streak for donating the spoons that were handed out.:thumb::thumb:
Nailer Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 So what's with the image on the bottom of your post Jon?
Just Hook'n Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Very nicely done Jon and crew. I've seen that steelhead before flipping people off.MAN, he is just plain mean.
Fishmael Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Great Job- we also noticed that by 9:30 the fish just shut off and we only had one bite until 11 when we pulled lines.
