anonymous Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Fished 6 am to noon. Nothing on riggers or dipsies. 3 for 3 on 200 ft 45# copper with Miami Dolphin spoon. 1 for 4 on 10 color lead with Tangerine Killer spoon. 85ft and 105 ft were the two best depths, we fished between port and the power plant. 2.6 to 3 sog worked better than slower regardless of direction. Happy Memorial Day!
Sea Eagle Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Great thing about this kind of fishing (I think) - is you never know from year to year or even trip to trip what is going to work. It seems like the last two years the long lines did not produce as well as the dipseys and down riggers. It was old school fishing. The last two trips, the long line presentations out produced the DD & DR set ups 5-1.I remember a few years back spin doctors and flys were hotter than hades, the last two years it has been 80-090% spoon bite for us.What does it all mean? I guess if I knew, I would be a professional, not a weekend warrior.
