TAKIN IT EZ Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Heading up next week for a few days of trolling for eyes. We are not meat hunters looking to fill the cooler, just hoping to maybe hook a nice one or two and have good time trying to catch eyes instead of salmon. What VHF channel is most used in that area? Thanks Rudey
EdB Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 68 and 72 but there's a lot less info and especially location shared on the radio anymore. One of the best places for fishing location info is Jeff's bait by Sterling State park. Their reports are accurate and they have a good selection of bait and tackle. We'll be fishing over there in June.
Line Dancin Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 When are you going to be there. I just moved my boat over to erie last week. I will be fishing this weekend and off and fishing there all memorial week staying at sterling state park from monday mem day through taht sunday. Here are some coordinates so you have an idea of where people are talking about. I talked to the marina today and they were saying the fish are out by sputnick in ohio waters right now. Ohio is only two rods per angler if you go out there. Tons of silver bass in the normal michigan waters. Sputnick is a ride just so you know. I am usually on 68 down there. Here is a link to a chart with all the basic gps coordinates you should have for over there. Print it out and take it with you.http://www.lakeeriesportfishing.com/pdfs/westernbasinhotspots.pdf
TAKIN IT EZ Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 Thanks for sharing the info. We will be there from the 22nd thru 24th. I will definitely take the coordinates with us. Rudey
