King Salmon 1 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Fun in the mud, tons of bait, and big Kings.25 to 50 fow we went 8 for 12 out of GH from 4-9 pm Friday. We ran 2 riggers 12 & 15 down, 2 coppers 75 ft. Hit fish on double orange crush, jagger bomb, and Jawbreaker spoons. All nice Kings 10 to 19 lbs.Sat. am same story same spoons in tight only fished 2 hours, went 5 for 8.Had two fish 15 & 18 lb. Kings break off one of the 75 coppers, chased the boards down and actually were able to grab the boards and hand lined both fish in - what a zoo copper all over the bottom of the boat and then we hit a double, good thing we were a little north and no one was near us.It has been a great Spring in GH, if you have a boat get out, it has been some of the best fishing we have had - my buddy and I have landed 81 fish in 7 trips, It's hard to go to work when the fishing is this good !!!
Hooked Up Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Thanks for the GH report! I'm hoping to get out for the first time this year out of GH, hopefully this week Thurs:)..Finally!
Lobi Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 All I've been hearing about is deep fish.Sounds like you found them in shallow.Only at first and last light? Thanks
King Salmon 1 Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Hello Dave / LobiWe were planning on going deep Friday afternoon where we have been fishing when we marked a ton of bait in the channel and outside the piers. A boat heading in said they hit 6 fish in tight and then we noticed fish being caught on the North pier and decided to set up and give it a shot. The boats that went deep did very good also on Fri & Sat.
