Should i run a big paddle on my swr? I'm trying to figure out a good spread. Or should I run the paddle off a diver? My boat is coming out of storage soon.

I run big flashers and flies on everywhere if its a fly bite, if im going to run SRWs with big flashers make sure its the deepest thing or run one on each corner and keep 30ft in ball distance.

Personally I've never run an SWR. I do like my big white paddle on the deeprigger with 20lb mono about 25ft behind the ball.

For me fishing is all about experimenting. Run the big paddle on a SWR, board, dipsy, whatever until you start getting fish on it. Once you start getting fish, replicate and fill the box.

i ran a 7 color once as a swr..got bit during a turn and it came up under my boards..will never run one again..i realize 7 color was excessive..but dont want to even chance that again

get some bead chains to help with line twist when running paddles on a swr.....just a little tidbit...i hate line twist, in certain conditions, like fleas or algae, a normal ball bearing swivel might clog up, the line will twist then break...good bye paddle and fly......sucking sound from wallet

I think you can never have too many swivel points on a deep paddle
