GPappy Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I have been thinking I should put the 4" heat exchangers on my 470s before I put the boat in the water this year. I bought the boat last fall and it still had the 3" heat exchangers. The previous owner said he never had any problems but if I can find a set at a reasonable price it would ease my mind.Need 2.Thanks,Greg
Just Hook'n Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I had a 470 with a anti-freeze cooling system on it. Boat ran all day long at the same temp and sipped gas. Great engine in my opinion. Not sure if I had 3" or 4" . . . been too many years to remember.
FsnMachine Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Some say you will be OK this far north. They run these down south in salt water with water temps in the high 80's. But I have not owned one myself. Looked at some but did not buy.
