GLF Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Myself, I hunt deer mostly for meat. I have no issues with taking does. I usually take one or two of them per year. I still "hope" that the big boy walks by my stand(while I'm in it ), but I am more than happy with taking a doe.
Dv8oR Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I like to practice a little deer management on my property.I don't shoot little bucks.Probably gonna take out an older bigger doe this year.
huntingfool43 Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Couldn't vote. I am not a brown it's down type. I prefer not to shot any fawns be it button bucks or doe. Any mature doe or buck will do.

caznik Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Well for me Id rather shoot only bucks during the early bow season and I also this year been letting all little bucks go by and trying to only take 6 points or more. Now during gun season if I have not taken a buck with my bow yet then I have to start think about meat hunting by taking the bigger does or look for does in the late season hoofing or kicking out the small deer from the herd. So far this year I have let alot of smaller bucks go by me and have not had a shot at anything else yet. But I am getting very itchy about shooting something very soon as long it is not small.Caznik
