jgaul Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Was limited on time so we stuck to the beaches. 10-15 fow off the sliders. 1 nice 5 lbs brown and 4 shakers on the 6 rods when I pulled lines!! No wonder I wasn't catching anything but the seagulls attention!! More dang birds following my boat yesterday.. Thought they just saw my thin fins!! guess not!Fished from 12-1:30... Gold thin fin took the brown in 12 fow. Inside board. Everything else I had out took fish too. Only 10 inches long!! I guess at least I picked good colors!
BenLubbs Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 We've been having the same problem Jeff, just got to keep checking the lines if you don't get hits for a while. Yellow Birds also make it easier to see those shakers.
Consummate Sportsman Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 What kind of boards are you runnin' Jeff? Too big maybe?
jgaul Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 Walleye boards.. fish were 10-12 inches long!! Not much to pull on fish that small!!
Consummate Sportsman Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Walleye boards.. fish were 10-12 inches long!! Not much to pull on fish that small!! I hear ya. We drag TX12's in the spring vs the walleye boards. They're great for flat lines or short cores. Set the drag real loose on your reels too. You can see if you're even dragging a weed. The 12's are a lot more sensitive than the walleye boards. Pick up a pair and give 'em a try. You'll see what I mean.
GLF Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Nice job Jeff. Those shakers are hard to tell when they are on.
