With the nice weather here I figured I better get my butt in gear. I need to mount my new vhf radio. I am not finding a great spot to mount it. Can I mount it in my glove box? There is plenty of room to make sure the cooling fins wont be too close to anything. I am hoping it won't be a problem. Don't chat on the radio. Just for safety measures.

Thanks

I do not see any reason why not. Many boats have all their electronics mounted inside of boxes for storage and security reasons

i have to agree with killerbe on this one. i have seen boats with all electronics boxed overhead. it shouldnt hurt anything. but this is just my opinion. if someone know for sure please chime in. i think its a great idea.

My dads little boat we did that and then mounted an external speaker to hear the radio better as it was muffled in the glove box. The speakers run like 8 bucks at radio shack to do that.

heat is the only thing you might have a problem with.if you have a black dash just lay a white towel over it on those hot day and you should be good:thumb:
