Mushy's Dad Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Who is GL Outdoors? I saw the X4 for sale through them and some other good deals. Good or bad??
Paulywood Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I've bought things from them in the past and haven't had any issues. You might want to check with Frank at Calumet Marine. He sells a lot of electronics and is a sponsor here.
EdB Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Don't know much about them but I checked out their website. One red flag I saw was no names or street addresses listed in the contact us or about us part of their website. Kind of scary dealing with a store you don't know where it is or who owns them. Legitimate contact info and a street address are 2 key things I look for when buying over the web.
blrunner Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I have used them many times over the years with no issues. They also answer all thier emails. Before xmas I got en email with a discount code for 20% off everything in their store except downriggers and electronics and in Febuary I got a 10% off. A tom mik flies 20% off was great.
spoonfed Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I bought my x4 from Bretts on the bay and got a great deal
Line Dancin Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 During the ludington tourney a few years back everyone was out of copper. I sent him an email and he met us on the dock with two spools to get us through. Since then i have made quite a few purchases over the years from him.
Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 So, who is that masked marauder in Ludville, some locals would like to know, is it Tuna? Thanks.
ekbelt Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I bought some things from GLoutdoors a month ago or so and the paypal payment went to Shane Ruboyianes. I believe he's affiliated with the Dreamweaver crowd.

It was about 6 years ago and i dont remember the guys name that came to my buddy boat.
bigweenie Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 There legit, Shane or DW is connected. Wouldnt worry about them being crooks:). Now for best deal, I am not sure who has that, BW
Mushy's Dad Posted March 6, 2012 Author Posted March 6, 2012 I see that Calumet Marine has the X4 and is one of the lowest prices. Thanks for everyone's input. Very helpful ! If you could do one more favor and help talk my wife into letting me purchase the X4, that would be greatly appreciated !
ekbelt Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission...
Mushy's Dad Posted March 6, 2012 Author Posted March 6, 2012 It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission... You dont have to talk me into it, I'm sold... It's the wifey that needs to understand that this is a tool of the trade and no fisherman should go without!!!
GLF Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission... I'll second this!

Long Lines Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 The X4 was on sale at the Outdoorsman in Jenison for $559. I left with one last Friday.
