H bird to lap top questions

Is there a way to hook up a gps unit to a lap top to enter data?

I use the navionics platnum software on an SD card. is there a way to just put in waypoints to the card and put the card back in the GPS.

I would like to network mine on shore to start scouting and setting way points because I am to busy running the rods to enter info.

Most modern GPS can interface with a PC or laptop via a USB cable for your particular unit. If all you want to do is enter waypoints you can do that while at home without a PC or laptop.
