GLF Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 For those that may not know, we sold our other house(It had been on the market for 2 years). This put us in a position so we could purchase a boat. We purchased a boat, the day after we closed on the other house. There is not a name on the back of the boat. I have a couple of names I was considering. One is GLF The second is Great Lakes Fisherman Would I be in the wrong to name it Great Lakes Fisherman ? What's everyone's thoughts on/for a name?
caznik Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Whats your kids names? I named mine after my kids.
Paulywood Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 I think that Great Lakes Fisherman is appropriate. That is what you will be doing on it, fishing the great lakes. That's how I named my boat. Someone asked me what I do on my boat. I replied, "I don't know, drink beer and stuff." So that's what I named my boat, "BEER N STUFF". It seems to fit.
Mike Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Get a nice vinyl of the glf logo and stick it on there..
NO MO BEGGEN Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 i think mike is right that would look pretty cool on the back with the fish and the state of michigan on the back it would make a nice looking boat even better. hope it treats you right
Dv8oR Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Anything will be better then Brokeback Charters.
muskybob Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Get a nice vinyl of the glf logo and stick it on there.. Pick out a name for it, but definately put the vinyl logo on the sides towards the rear quarter.
Heavy Action Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 There you Mike. That would be a good name
GLF Posted October 20, 2006 Author Posted October 20, 2006 Mike was kind enough to use his photoshop skills and name it for me. This is what he sent me I dont think so!

GLF Posted October 23, 2006 Author Posted October 23, 2006 did you get a trailer also?It did not come with a trailer. I will be looking for a trailer in 2007. It has a 10' beam so I will need a wide load permit when I haul it.
spoonfed Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 my pursuit is 9'6 beam. We haul it to all the tourneys! I bought my trailer a Zinners marine in utica. its a triple axle aluminum trailer, i think it was only $5000. Let me know if you want the number!
GLF Posted October 23, 2006 Author Posted October 23, 2006 my pursuit is 9'6 beam. We haul it to all the tourneys!I take it, you have never been pulled over by the DOT?
spoonfed Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 no, I had on tell me though, that they have bigger fish to fry, and as long as your truck doesnt say "Bobs boat hauling" that they wouldnt mess with you
GLF Posted October 23, 2006 Author Posted October 23, 2006 Is your trailer as wide as the boat, or did you have your trailer made 8'6"?
silver one Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 If my wife let me buy a boat like that I would feel obligated to name it after her and go with the big Greatlakesfishermen logo on the side. Fortunantly for me she new nothing of my boat when I bought it So I just use my site name as I have yet to figure out just what I want on the back of my boat
GLF Posted October 24, 2006 Author Posted October 24, 2006 The trailer is 8' 6".I spoke with a few trailer companies today. I got some prices and other information. What I found out....8'6" is the widest trailer they can make.
