Wondering what other people run, I'm making some custom meat rigs this year to try out.

I can't speek for everybody, but I prefer big water tackle meat rigg's. Have had good luck with them in my program. I believe that they use ryhs davis head's. As far as color's, depend's on the day for me. Usualy green's (froggy), red's (big red), purple (purple haze) have been good to me.

I like king meats heads, greens blues and white crush, teaser we all run Rapture Trolling Flies teaser rigs. Hypnotist, purple no see em, oceana,red pepper are all good choices!!!

Both make GREAT products! Like Matt said the greens and blues are always good, but the red head on the Black Mamba is at times fantastic. Especially after the sun is high and fish have moved deep.

Both the Jk's and Big Weenies are the same Mag head. In my opinion, the BW's have better, more attractive color work. BW's rigs also don't have any crimps to slip either. A full blown Pig Rig is tough to beat.

Amen brother! I have no affiliation with them, but they get a lot of my coin when it comes to meat rigs!

capt john king silver bullet green 2 fly rig behind 12in black mamba reel flasher took 2 fish over 20lbs and none less then 15lbs for me last year.

Here are 2 of the 4 meat rigs I setup...

10" spin doctors

custom tied mylar teasers

big weenie UV heads

glow beads

11 inches between the teasers and then the meat head is 15 inches from the last teaser.

I think I have the first teaser 11 inches back from the spin doctor, should I lengthen that out? Anyone have a preference?

That set up looks about right to me. I also enjoy playing around with making up my own teasers and flys. A great set up for me last year was the big water tackle UV on Ice meat rig.

Anything in Green, Blue or even Red Big Weenie meat rigs worked fantastic for us. . By far though the best rig we had last year was a Purple UV Death Meat Rig, there was just something about the black/purple color that was produtive no matter what the conditions were like.

I also run Captain Kings meat rigs. I always run a glow Red Meat Rig behind a Big Al's flasher on the starboard rigger. Other good colors for me are mountain dew, silver and gold.
