sjk984 Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I have a couple of spoons that are ready for new hooks. And I am going to try a few singles but have no idea what size to use? Thanks Steve
Just Hook'n Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I think I use 4/0 on my flies. I'd probably go 3/0 on "normal" size spoons and maybe try 4/0 if they are magnum spoons.

Pioneer Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 3/0 for 3 1/4", 4/0 for 3 3/4" to 4", 5/0 for mags. All gamakatsu siwash for me, and don't forget to put a slight offset bend in them.
SUPERTRAMP Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Try the GAmakaatsu 3/0 Octopus red with the straight shank. I tie flies on the 3/0 02313 model. But like the strait eye for spoons. The red works better than the chrome, goes for trebles too.
