walleyewizard Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Does anyone think the cohos are in around the powerplant yet? Im thinking about maybe trying to get the boat out there this week if possible. Also, does anyone who lives down that way know if the launch is open?
danthebuilder Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Launch is open. They pulled the docks though. I couldn't tell you anything about coho's at the moment.
Priority1 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Alan, A warm welcome to the GLF site. Just holler if ya need any help.
silver one Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Im sure there are some fish there but typically they dont show up in SH untill mid April. Drive 40 min south and fish out of ST.JOE. There are coho south at the powere plant down there. and they are getting fish at the mouth of the river.
GLF Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Keep in mind the distance you have to stay away from the power plant. After 9/11 you can not longer get close to the warm water discharge.
Far Beyond Driven Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Last year we pulled 6 limits in a row south of South Haven in late March, and it was a colder winter than this year.2-19-02 we trolled all around the through the discharge (last year you could do that) and got nothing.
walleyewizard Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Ya the reason i asked was because we did really good last march. Thats only a month away:D This crazy weather makes me think its spring and im ready lol
