What do you use for storing trolling flys? A few brands come in the tubes, but most of my favorites don't. I keep a few connected to the flasher, but many aren't, and I need to dig them out...any help appreciated.:D

I use swim noodles. Make a small cut and slide the knot end into it, and then wrap the fly around it and bury the hook into the foam. I use them in about two foot sections and they store easily especially if you are using single hooks.

in the past I have just left them attached to flasher, but the lead becomes a mess.

I'm going to try ziplock bags for now and removing them from the flashers.

I like the swim noodle idea.

I have seen guys use a arrow storage box, but seems a bit big and bulky, I have enough boxes in the way already

I use these snell holders from Cabelas. I think you can buy them buy 2's or as this combo. If the flies are unrigged then I just store them in a heavy duty ziplock bag that came with my tackle box. I also use the snells to hold extra leaders that I pre-tied. Those come in handy from time to time.

The noodle is a great and cheap idea that works great too.

I have the plastic tubes like some of the flies come in. I have Plano case they go in. I just roll up the leader and stick the fly and leader in the tube. It makes it easy to see the flies I want and does not take up too much room.

I use a thing called a Fly Trap. Clear tubes that I put the name of the fly on it and they fit into a clear case!!!!

Last year I switched to the lure lugger. I really like it. The one I bought is from big papa sportfishing products.

90% of the flies are storied in zip lock bags with out hooks or leaders. The other 10% are on flashers, when we are done we take a peice of swim noodle and cut one side so it can fit around a flasher, then we wrap the leader around that.

Go to the local hardware and buy some basic pipe insulation. It's real cheap. You cut it into 2-3 inch pieces, then pull the fly through the middle and then wrap the line around the outiside and fasten with the hook to keep it from unrolling. Works great
