Has anyone ever touched up the coating on a shimano reel before? Is it even possible? What products are out there that could be a possiblity?

How about getting an Okuma it's color back?

Any thoughts? I know it's all cosmetic, but just curious.

Bob,

For chips I'd suggest maybe some nail polish? If you can get close in color anyway.. And for restoring the color, Eagle One makes a product that is made to restore faded black plastic on cars. New Black (?) or something like that.. It works GREAT and doesn't seem to wear off/out. I found it with the car wax at Wally World..

Thanks for the suggestion, you wouldn't know a nail polish that would match a Tekota? It's chipped out along the top were someone hooked the lures.

Yeah..... I'll get back to you on that one ;-)

Maybe I'll ask my sister to check it out.

ive tried the wd-40, armor all, and trim renew but as soon as I get back out on the lake the fade back right away. Tried some olive oil and it worked like a charm. of course it was the end of the season last year so that might have something to do with it lasting longer but everybody has olive oil...
