Bored and sick of winter and just wanted to share... Out of those 10, Patriot was the go to spoon down deep and Mixed veggie never came off the 5 color. Edited January 4, 2012 by Killin' It
Building C's Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Looks like you changed all the hooks on those. Great job!!!
luremaker Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Well Dave in 2012 we will have to add to that spread and make those numbers go up.luremaker
Killin' It Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 Pay attention to the lure on the far right.... Never came off the 350 it took a beating!!I only use Owner hooks.... I am still looking for some single's that I like.
Building C's Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Dave,I looked at Big Lake Lure's website and they didn't have any of those colors. Do you know any websites that sell them or have more color charts?
Killin' It Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 Mixed Blue Veggie is on the UV site... as for the other colors... send Larry an email. They were custom painted for me.. as they were my fav. from other companies that no longer paint spoons.
BenLubbs Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Will, I wouldn't bother with that ugly blue, red, and white one cause it only catches fish on scooby snacks or when dave is on board. Just saying
Killin' It Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 Ben.... Ben... Ben.... the truth hurts...We wont talk about the Mix blue Veggie on the shore core or the Green slush then will we?
mattmishler Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 i gotta ask about the stinger green slush, where did your run it, sky conditions how deep? I could not get that thing to be catch more than one fish a trip
BenLubbs Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 matt, dave can correct me if I'm wrong but the green slush really stood out on sunny days on the 200 and 250 coppers. I remember one trip it took 4 steelhead in under an hour.
mattmishler Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Ohh ok, it was one of the new stinger from last year and if it was hot i wanna be able to tell people where and the conditions it was to sell more at the shows )))))))))))
Killin' It Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 Ben, Sounds like you spent some time on my boat.... Green slush was good on the 200 and 250 as Ben said sunny days. Mixed Veggie was good on the 5 color no matter what. Moonshine DT and BF were good down deep early on Craigs x mas and Confusion were rigger baits stacked on each other with a scooter clip. 40-60 down. The frog baits.... 10 feet off the bottom 50-100 feet back on the riggers after 10 am. Talked to BLL about the new colors and: "We are working on the updates for the new colors for 2012 and our new catologe will also have them in it. It will be do by the first of spring. The web by the end of the month." Dave
Plugs Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Our 2 favorites for the season were Modified Blue Dolphin & Super Screw. I know I caught a lot of fish on these two and bought many of them through out the season.Towards the end of the season, we had some luck with UV Blue Mango, Skittles and a lure that has a strange name. It has been good the last 2 falls after the run & I think it is a Super Slim which is White with a Blue center & I think is SSEM1935 based is what's on the back of the package.I typically make a few lures with the kids each winter & am just getting ready, so look out for "Monkey Man", "Tootser Pie", "Killa", or "Family Time" next year! Can't wait for Spring!
