help planning a 2012 trip

Hello everyone - I am from Cincy OH and want to plan a fishing trip to Lake Michigan on a charter next year. We have no experience with fishing salmon or Lake Michigan.

Any suggestions on what time of year and where to go.

ludington manistee or frankfort in august. and you had better get your date set soon as the best charters are already filling up for prime time

riverside, trout scout, killin time adventure one,pier pressure are all from manistee i dont fish the other ports but im in manistee every weekend of july and august. i fish on my own boat but if i was to pay for a charter it would be on one of those boats.

Try LIE A LOT CHARTERS IN LUDINGTON for an august trip. If you are looking for early season try Silver King Charters in St Joseph. Ken has been fishing that port since 1967 as a charter captain and he will give you a great trip. You can Google Ken Neidlinger and see some of the instructional videos he has put out.

Manistee in August is a blast. Killin Time is a great option, they know how to catch fish. Craig is a great guy and Matt can run a boat. Check out the website or the Facebook page.

I've known jerry for 35 years. He is a one of the greats. He is sometimes very difficult to get a charter with as people rebook from season to season with him.

indiana waterers of lake michigan are great early in the year

more depends on when you want to go rather than the best spot

Went walleye fishing last April up Erie and had a great time. Looking forward to salmon. I hear they are hard to bring in if you do not know how.

If you want Walleye Jerry does walleye charters through June out of Brest Bay Marina. I have my boat over there also for June at Brest bay.
