Pioneer Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Has anyone used these? They catch stripers like mad, just wondered if they worked for salmon. Thanks
mattmishler Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Michigan stinger has the trout rig that looks similar to one, i know big weenie has one to called the grease trap, very good for catching lake trout on the bottem, Hear is a Vid of Capt Coslow and Capt harvey doing work on some trout with the righttp://vimeo.com/27036135
Fishme00 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I made one once using colorado blades, plastic shad, and a bunch of stout wire. I designed it to troll under the surface in the propwash to "call" fish into the spread in the spring. It trolled great but I found it hard to justify such a trainwreck behind a pole that could be fishing a proven productive lure. Now it sits in the bottom of the boat... But I still liked the idea.
HONDAM Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Grease traps work great, in my opinion they are only good on the bottom for lakersHere's a video taken off my dads boat of us fishing with grease traps and spin n glosRyCI0p9yEyM
