I have never ran planer boards before. I picked up a couple of Church walleye planer boards at the Birch Run show from the Fishdog guys. There is an adjustable weight on the bottom of them. What does everyone recommend for the setting of these weights? Leave them neutral, weight foreward, or weight back??? What do you have yours set at?

Actually---

I adjust the weight. If just a mono highline with a spoon, I will move it back 1 tipping the board back. Running a core, I will move the weight foreward +2 or more to compensate for the drag of the core so the board tracks level. This works very well in rough water. This is the jist of the adjustments....

I don't think I've EVER touched my keel weight adjustment. Mark is right on for what they are for....But I've not noticed a difference in teh way they run with a straight mono and spoon compaired to a full core with a Jplug.
