Just Hook'n Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Great night on the water. As normal NOAA predicted 1-3 and it was FLAT. Gorgeous night on the lake. We trolled a few plugs through the channel on the way out with no hits. So we motored out to 180 and started setting lines. Got 1 on rigger set at 70ish on a white 11" paddle with mirage fly and missed 2 on dipsey with big ring set on 1.5 with a green veggie spinnie and a yellow home made fly. DARN IT. I could not keep them on the dipsey last night. Made it out to 230ish, picking up a few here and there. Came back in to 190 caught a few more. Made it in to 150 and the graph LIT UP. Top 60 ft was FULL of fish, but we couldn't get them to go. What worked: downrigger down 70 with 11" paddle with fly (mirage on one and apple whatever on the other) three times. mixed veg stingray spoon on full core bad tad on full core green veggie spinnie with fly on dipsey 1.5 with mag ring set 160 back something else must have worked, but I can't remember what it was. Ended up going 7 for 9 throwing back one small laker. I want to thank our guest Phil for coming along and taking a look at the boat. Hopefully we did good enough for him to consider a purchase.
