BenLubbs Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Headed out at 2:00 with my two youngest brothers and a friend. On tips from Dave Ash and knowing the water was real cold outside the channel we set up going in. On the way out we had downrigger balls running into fish but no hits. Once we got outside the channel it was steady 4 footers. Turned south to make a turn and hit one on a Mongolian Beef Moonshine 17 down on the rigger. Ended up almost to the sliders before we finally got it too the boat. After that we just did circles out in front of the channel, working the edge of the dirty water quite a bit. Most of our hits on the north side of the channel on the edge. Ended up 4 for 10 or 12. All of our fish came on Mongolian Beef with hits on a Frog SD and It-l-do yogurt fly and Blue Bubble SD and Homosezwhat Big weenie fly. I was running J-plugs but they were not doing it for me, even though everyone else was killing them on that it sounds like. Called it a day at 5:30 when the waves had grown substantially. The biggest was 18 lbs, then two around 15, and a shaker that was dead by the time we pulled him up.
SUPERTRAMP Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 U DA MAN BEN too rough for me to even venture dn the channel.
Far Beyond Driven Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Slick was cutting the waves pretty well. We were jealous as we were getting pounded.
Killin' It Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 We got the snot beat out of us twice yesterday:)
