Nailer Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Easy or lucky? What ever it was it was fast and fun. We set down in 80 fow North of port at 6:30 and set up with all flashers and flies. Shortly after setting up we saw the net marker that quickly gobbled up both of our out divers:mad::mad: After clearing that we headed West. When we got to 95' on a NW troll the fun began. From 7am to 8:30 all I did was scoop fish and set lines. I believe we never went more than a few moments without a fish on. Spinners and flies targeting 70' down where all working. When it was over we had 10 or 11 in the cooler. Once the shallow bite died we dropped our gear down to 100' and started picking up bigger kings. The Green 11" protroll with the Pickled Sunshine fly was the best setup in that deep program. It accounted for 5 or 6 hits during mid morning. Honestly we got fish from 90' all the way out to 165'. 70' down early, and 100' down when the sun was high. Our best box this year for a 3 man limit. When we weighed in at Don/Jim's event we had just under a 15# 6 fish average that was only good for a 5th place finish. Muskegon is just plane HOT right now!
EdB Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Nice catch, great to see the steady fishing up and down the lake right now.
BenLubbs Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 That's a fifth place box??? Man I wish I was fishing before the wind picked up
