My new rig okuma classic gti salmon rod, okuma convector 45 with 30 lbs power pro backer and suffix 7 core and 35 ft 20 gtx mono , all for 110 out the door bad deal? I'm gona try to post a pic.

Brian, It looks good. How many yds. of backer is on it? Big Kings sometimes make big runs.

150yds power pr backer, I didn't think it was enough but thed guy that spooled said I'm good so if I bring a spooled reel back to him ill let him hear the first words that come to my mouth when that 30 lbs king runs to milwakee with everything lol

Nice setup Brian. Personally I would take the lead off and add some more mono backing. It never hurts to have more backing and I like to have mono to attach the board to. Also, the fuller the spool is the faster that 7 color is going to come in. Good luck with the new rig!

I agree with KJ. I always put enough backing on my reel to fill up the whole spool.

Can iadd mono to thr power pro backer then to core without any issues? The 150 yds cost 18 bucks and I would hate to flush that much money in line!!

Yep, that's how all mine are setup.

My 7 color setup had 200 yards of 30lb powerpro and then however much 40lb mono i needed to fill it the rest of the way. To me it looks that you will want some more backer just to fill the spool.
