Great Lakes Jake Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Had a chance to make my third trip to the bay today, and this is the first chance I have had to make a post since joining. Left this morning with a buddy out of Linwood at 8:30. Ran NE to 20 fow and by 9:30, little white bass, perch, and 4 small eye's burned us out of our 3 dozen crawlers(first time needing more than that). We decided to run back in, grabbed more crawlers, switched spots(due East and set up in 20 fow) and trolled towards the plug, and caught 20 eyes and 4 really nice perch. Kept 7 eyes 20-24" to go with the perch. It is great to have such a healthy fishery. Gonna enjoy some fresh fillets for dinner.System:Trolled 1.1 to 1.3 w/bouncers n harnessescomplemented with divers n spoonsblue holographic/silver backed/blue n purple beeded harnesses and purple w/ copper backed spoons
snowfish Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Nice job, way to stick it out. A little more speed will help with those farm animals.

LTH Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Nice job, way to stick it out. A little more speed will help with those farm animals. How much more speed are ya talking Ralph?
snowfish Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 How much more speed are ya talking Ralph?usually around 1.7,1.8 to 2.0 with harnesses, and 2.2 up to 3.5 with spoons or tots and other stickbaits. Maybe stay down under 3 with the stickbaits, they tend to spin it too fast, but spoons would be fine over 3. jmo.
Priority1 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Very rarely do we use more than 2 dozen crawlers for a 20 fish box. I seldom run much over 1.5 MPH.
snowfish Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 You got less junk fish than we got on the inner bay Frank, we have to out run em:lol:

I don't stay on junk fish. We take an occasional farm animal or cat but when we release them they tell the rest of their school what we did to them on Priority1.
