Fishmael Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Ran north out of muskegon 4 miles and set lines in 60fow, was all alone as most seemed to have stayed around peirheads and deeper 90-120fow. Trolled for 3 hours staying in 70-75fow. Water temp still 42 25' down. Fishing was hot for us, but unfortunately I seemed to have forgotten how to bring the fish into the boat. I lost 5 fish, having them spit the lure at the back 50' from boat. I had enough and refused to take another rod:mad: Thanks to my wonderful wife we keep the skunk off the boat having her land 2 fish:grin: Ya, she schooled me! 2.25 at ball Free sliders with ball down 55 took 3 hits and 1 fish. Mag NBK7color sponge bob (Imposter- new that day) took 3 hits, lost all 3 fish, spitting lures at us at back of boat.5color MS Double Trouble 1 fish Mostly smaller fish last night- big ones probably much deeper:confused:
Ergude Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Nice report. Been schooled by my better half a number of times. It will be interesting to see what happens with the water temp this week. BTW, what equipment are you using to get the down temps? Thanks.
Fishmael Posted July 20, 2011 Author Posted July 20, 2011 Bill,I currently use the MOOR Subtroll and think it's great- a little bother with coated cable but analog display is nice. I used the fish hawk fx4 last year and liked that product as well. The other product you may like is the fish hawk TD which is about $150 and attaches to either your DR or Fishing line and will give you depth and temp, no speed. I have this on my boat as well and like it for giving me running depths of lures- also nice for dipsy's. Always willing to help.
Paulywood Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Thanks for the report, I will be in Muskegon this weekend, hope the fish hang around.
BIGTREBLE Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) Nice job, and we farmed alot our self last weekend. But there is always NEXT time. Edited July 20, 2011 by BIGTREBLE type o
Nailer Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Great area where you where fishing. Keep up the good work.
Adam Bomb Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Funny how you can get in a funk and the fish seem to come unbottoned everytime you handle the rod. We had that on our boat last week with my neighbor....And good luck with the razzing, im sure the wife will let you know she went 2 or 2 and you went 0 for 5...lol
Fishmael Posted July 21, 2011 Author Posted July 21, 2011 Ken,We have been concistantly catching the fish 4 miles north of the peirheads. Fish have been working their way out deeper. Will be out this weekend providing Mother Nature doesnt run us off the water. Dreamweaver Tournament Saturday- We will be sharing all info on 72, it's a great tournament and everyone who competes in this tournament is already a winner for their support.
fishsniffer Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 there are several people from this site alone fishing this tourney..maybe we can do a little networking..there is no prize for position you finish as all money goes to the greater good..so shouldnt be a problem sharing info
Just Hook'n Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Nice work Jacob. Great report and good luck in the Dreamweaver tourney.
Fishmael Posted July 21, 2011 Author Posted July 21, 2011 I agree with Don,listen for me on the radio- I get excited everytime we catch a fish. All I hope for is a comfortable ride with my friends, enjoying the awsome lake and if we catch a few fish well heck that's a bonus for me. I will drop a post tomorrow afternoon from the morning fishing as we will be out at 5am tomorrow.
Paulywood Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 You can't shut me up if you tried! We will be out tonight doing a little prefishing before the Dreamweaver tomorrow. Give me a shout on 68 tonight if you're out.
