shu9265 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 NEW variation of a virus out there kids. Called XP Internet Security 2012.This one is a real monster to get rid of. All the anti spyware sites say they can make it gone. NOT ! ! ! Only thing I found to work was a system restore to earlier point in time. This thing hijacks your browser and says it has been infected by tracking trojan virus, the people made it, are trying to get your CC info when you order the fix.Do Not ORDER or pay for anything named XP Internet Security 2012 ! ! !
Line Dancin Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 There is also a variant that is called microsoft security essentials 2011All you have to do is reboot into safe mode with networking. Search for tdskiller and download and run it: http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?qid=208280684then search rkill rdownload and run it: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkillgo to download .comsearch malewarebytes.run in safe mode full scanyou'll get an message saying that it wont remove the complete virus in safe mode. ignore it and run maleware bytes. when the scan is finished restart into windows rescan and remove the traces.then download ccleaner.run the registry scanner (follow these prompts) clean the registrybackup the registry.do this twice. All traces will be removedAll are free tools and ask for a donation if they work. These rootkits can be nasty to get rid of if you dont have experience with them.Oh yeah we charged 85 dollars at the store to remove it when i was there so ssshhhhh!!!!!
