fishhound Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 hello to who ever can give me some advice. I am fairly green to big lake fishing. I see in alot of reports people catching lakers on the trash can dodger setups. Could someone give me some more information on these setups like how big are the dodgers and what would be recommended behind the dodger ?
Paulywood Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Without going out and measuring one I would guess they are about 8" long. Chartreuse or yellow Spin-n-Glos or flies are a good place to start. I am sure there are guys who know better than me who will chime in soon.
Yoda Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 What lake you fishing in fishhound ? We fish Northern Lake Huron Detour St.Ignace area, the set ups we use are as follows: 8" Trash can dodger 16" in front of peanuts, our best peanut colors are 2 tone green glows and green glow with red dots on it. Shinny Chrome dodger and flodgers 8" with the same color peanuts. we also run a few spin-n-glows run them back to about 22 inches behind the dodger. Been playing with Big Weenies "Grease Traps" also they are begining to show some promiss also
SUPERTRAMP Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Check out Dirty Dogs post of 6/29, Terry posts pics of his hot stuff and he has some really good ones of the Trash Can dodger set up with Spin n glows.
anonymous Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I have had good luck with 8'' chrome dodgers and either glow white or glow green squids 24" behind the dodger on lakers by the bottom several times as well.
