Fishsporttom Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Beautiful skies temps in the 80's we decided to head out to the big lake, looking for the elusive perch out of port Muskegon. 3pm we head out north of muskegon pier to 130-140 fow and marked fish right on bottom. Here we fished until 5pm with no bites reminincing on limits of perch in past years where did they go? Decided to troll to port and call it quits. 5:30 first hit on rigger in 142 fow 50ft down, on a handpainted hot pink 70's coho charger. Landed and boxed a nice steelie in 3-4 rollers without falling out of the boat. 15 min later in 135 fow another hit on rigger 50 ft down on NBK at a 1.5 speed troll, got her to 50 ft behind boat where she danced on the water and spit spit the NBK at the hubs tellng him who was boss. 2 more releases same water none boxed in next 30 min, then washed lures back to port. Beautiful day ended with supper in the box a nice tan and flat waters. Gotta love Michigan.
