joeltammyx7 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I have never fished Holland. Just looking for some pointers of where to drop lines. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!Joel
Just Hook'n Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 if you hear people talk about going south to the "sliders" those are the big sand dunes you can see from the lake. They look like they are sliding into the water. That is about the only "spot" that people talk about in Holland. Depth depends very much on timing and temp. Wish I could be more helpful. Haven't been out enough this year.
Brandon Dekker Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Hi Joel,The salmon fishing is pretty slow right now out of Holland. However, there are plenty of Lake trout to be caught right now. Start in 75fow south of the harbor and work your way out. White and green dodgers near bottom with Spin n glows have been working pretty well for me. I'm sure some other guys will give some advice as well. We have had some interesting currents here lately so be sure to put your probe down to get your speed.Good luck out there!Brandon
Nailer Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 You can just about always get fish in the 80-120 fow. Motor North and troll South. Most of the time a South Troll is best.
BenLubbs Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Keep and eye on here for reports too, most of the guys that fish out of Holland try to get reports up after they go with the depth of water and direction they fished. Welcome BTW.
Killin' It Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Watch out for the 2 nav bouys on the S side of the lake in 1.5 FOW.
