downtime Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 does anyone have one and if so how well do they work i have been doing the trial and error message for temp cant afoord the full fishhawk was looking into maybe one of these
BenLubbs Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I have one but have yet to try it, I'm waiting for a day that I can get out in the afternoon when the fish arn't biting and try it. I know the temp works because I can blow and it and watch it change.
Casey II Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I have one. I use it to see where my cores and coppers are actually running. Very user friendly unit. Temp readings do seem to match up with my x4. Hope this helps.
hourlate Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I have one as well. It seems to work for us. We initially put it on a dipsey and were shocked at the lack of depth considering what was expected. We then put it on the DR to see how the depth compared to the DR indicator and it was working just fine. It has helped us locate the thermocline more than anything. With our experience the speed on surface and hum (and angle) of the rigger lines is sufficient to determine appropriate speed. The TD is a nice addition to our arsenal.
Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I just bought one of these new units too lately, but haven't used it yet. Glad to see the expense was worth it and has me wanting to try it now asap. Thanks.
