ranger 79 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Anyone use the dreamweaver or moonshine plugs. I know the Ace hi plug is well liked.
Nailer Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 The Ace Hi in the blue, or green Splatter Back, or Lightning rock!
Killin' It Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I have a watermelon size 4 I found floating in the channel that I catch fish on once and a while. It is the ONLY J plug that I have done anything on, on ANY boat. Brads cut plugs on the other hand... Magic:)
killerbe20 Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Last year was my first year running the Dreamweaver plugs. I did quite well on them in the fall. I am not much of a plug fisherman so if i can get them to work, they must be good! I am looking forward to trying their captains plugs. Similar style to the Ace-Hi plugs.
Killin' It Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Does anyone change out the moonshine hook for something smaller?? that thing is HUGE??
UBDSLO1 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I have a lot of "J's", my favorite is the Wonderbread Everglo, that thing rocks. But so does the Ace-Hi Canadian splatter back and all glo.
Line Dancin Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 i use a lot of differnet j's. Tiger plugs, Dreamweaver, Moonshine, J-plugs, and Aces High. I take fish on them all.
anonymous Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 J-plug mother of pearl and Lyman Lure glow wonder bread have caught alot of fish on my boat.
In The Net Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 silver horde all white or white with a black ladder back. We took five fish in 15 minutes last year on a silver horde white with a black ladder back, and then the line snapped. It also took fish on other trips.
Just Hook'n Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I think what you will find is that people catch fish on plugs (no matter what style/make) at certain times of the year. What I have heard from people is they like the ace-hi because it is easy to use. you don't have to mess around with the hooks like standard plugs. They also have a different action, but I think it's more the messing around that peopel don't like. As for me, I have a TON of J-plugs. Size 2, 3, 4 and some big boys 5's. I think I have 4 or 5 boxes of them. Funny though, I probably only use about a half dozen.
SUPERTRAMP Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 SILVER HORDE Pearl Glow Black ladder back, Ace Hi Green Splatter Back, J plugs Wonderbread glow and Chrome red head Chrome With Kelly Green Glow back work well I always have at least one plug on a rigger this time of year usually 75 to 90 down depending on water temp.
strik Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Lyman lures seem to work well on lake huron and g bay bolod nose, stairt way to heaven and stair way to hell. Aslo green with a blk ladder backstrik
Adam Bomb Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Silver Horde is by far the most productive for me, second is the original J Plugs. Dream weaver originals and mooshines have not produced well for me at all. I have not tried the new Dream weaver copy of the ace high, so i cant comment on it. Tough to go to them when the ace highs work so well.
fishmagnetmike Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 have done real well on chrome with red lipstick
