Killin' It Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I lost more fish then I want to admit yesterday on scooter clip fix slidders. The fish were hooked up... popped the rigger ..... I run over reel down on them and BLAM GONE!!Any advice.
Priority1 Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Keep your main line tight to the ball. Minimize the slide. Reel like a mad monkey.
Killin' It Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 so I should set them 10 feet off the ball and nothing more. That is part of my problem I was doing 15 to 20
fishsniffer Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 i usually set mine about 6 ft above the main..and i load the rod as far as it will go
Just Hook'n Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I run them 10 ft or less and the pole tips are as tight as I can get them without popping the release. BUT, you still have to real like a mad monkey as Frank put it.
DIRTY DOG Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 i usually set mine about 6 ft above the main..and i load the rod as far as it will goThis is how I do it also, I also tighten the release a little more than normal so that you have to release it yourself this gives you a little more time and keeps your line tite the entire time. This is just how I do it , we loose very few on the sliders.
